The red carpet gala media event to announce winners will be held on Wednesday 07 August 2024 at the Afriforum Theatre, Pretoria. Trophies will be handed out only at the red carpet gala event on Wednesday 07 August 2024 as well as the winner of the cash prize of R20,000.00. All entries will be taken into consideration for the R20,000.00 cash prize. So you can win overall best 2024 entry for a single, album or music video.
Only submit your best material and please no pixelated photos only hi-res artwork and images.
Once you have selected your categories and paid for them, and you have received your order confirmation, please Wetransfer the following to info@afri-indie.co.za : 6.1 The track title of your single / or titles of the tracks if you are entering an album. 6.2 A high quality mp3 version of your track or tracks in the case of an album. 6.3 The songwriter/s , composer/s and producer/s of your track or tracks. 6.4 The relevant final hi res version of the artwork of the single or the album in .jpg or .png format. 6.5 Only 1 to 2 maximum digital marketing pix / images of you or your artist in hi-res .jpg or .png format.
Afrikaans and English material may be submitted.
Kindly refrain from entering a cover song that is exactly like the original, and has just been recorded with your vocals from a backtrack that is widely available on the internet. Afri-Indie is a national awards initiative for top original work, so kindly note that original material is required. If you or your artist has created a rework of a cover song or used bits of a cover song in your rework that is really innovative and fresh it may be entered.
Always use any Afri-Indie nominations or wins as part of your marketing strategy to aid you as an artist to achieve media interviews, performances and to increase your credibility as a cut above. Nominations and wins such as Afri-Indie carry clout not only in South-Africa but worldwide.
When you enter the awards you automatically give Afri-Indie permission to use your photographs and artwork for any potential media interviews, social media usage and usage for the red carpet gala event without any objection whatsoever.
If you only distribute your material via a large record company you are still regarded as indie (independent) and may enter.
